Generative Art

I recently read John Maeda’s “The Laws of Simplicity.” Being published in 2006, before the release of the iPhone, makes it an interesting read. How humans interact with technology can change so dramatically, yet some design principles still stay true. That aside, one quote of many stuck in my mind, “A relatively simple bit of computer code can produce surprisingly complex visual art.” That inspired me to use CodePen to explore the simple possibilities of SVG and Canvas. Here are a few of those explorations.
